8 Weeks Pre-Licensing Training for Surveyors – Freshers
National Insurance Academy, Pune (NIA) proposes to organize the Training of Fresh Surveyors for eligible candidates, which will be held from 2nd February 2026 to 28th March 2026. The portal will open for registration from 19th January 2026 to 28th January 2026.
The training will comprise of 5 weeks online sessions wherein domain subjects along with introduction to Surveyor’s Regulations, Duties and Responsibilities, Report Writing and Soft Skills will be covered.
Additionally, 3-week practical onsite training with a senior surveyor is essential. The surveyor shall be identified by the candidate at their own initiative, resource, and cost.
Important considerations for the training: |
- The commercials for the Pre-Licensing online training programme are Rs. 50,000/- plus GST @ 18% per participant.
- In addition, the candidate must identify a senior surveyor independently, with whom they will undertake the 3-weeks practical onsite training. After completing the training, a completion certificate to be obtained from such senior surveyor.
- The location of the candidate and the surveyor should be in the same city or within a distance of 200 km.
- The cost, if any, for the 3-week practical onsite training by the senior surveyor has to be borne separately by the candidates.
- Candidates must ensure that they meet the eligibility criteria mentioned below in Point “A” before proceeding with registration. They can register on the website of the National Insurance Academy, Pune, using the link provided therein.
- The online sessions will be held from Monday to Saturday. Timetable and other details will be shared with the participants once the Registration is confirmed.
- On completion of online training and practical onsite training with a Senior Surveyor a Final Online Test will be conducted by National Insurance Academy.
- Thereafter, Training Evaluation Cum Completion Certificate will be issued to the candidates who successfully clear the Final Practical Test.
“(A)” Documents required to be submitted before commencement of Online Training:
The candidates are required to upload Soft Copy as well as send Hard copy of the following documents:
- IRDAI Enrolment Number (Not older than 3 Years till the last date of final exam)
- III Qualifying Exam Passing Certificate
- 2 Passport Size Photo (with candidate’s name written at its back)

Important considerations for the Final Online Exam: |
On completion of online training and practical onsite training, an online Final Practical exam will be conducted by the Academy, the date of which will be announced in due course.
- Candidates undergoing the online training with National Insurance Academy need not pay any additional fees for the Final Practical Exam.
- Candidates applying for Fresh Surveyor License and undergoing practical onsite training for 6 months with a senior surveyor can also take the online test at a nominal fee of Rs 2500/- plus GST @ 18% (per subject).
- Existing surveyors, who have undergone training with a Senior Surveyor & are willing to obtain license in additional subjects, can also take the online test at a nominal fee of Rs 1500/- plus GST @ 18% (per subject).

2 Weeks Pre-Licensing Training for Surveyors – Additional Department
National Insurance Academy, Pune (NIA) proposes to organize the Training for eligible candidates for Additional Department, which will be held from 20th July 2026 to 14th August 2026. The portal will open for registration from 1st July 2026 to 12th July 2026.
The training of each department will comprise of 1-week online sessions wherein domain subject along with introduction to Surveyor’s Regulations, Duties and Responsibilities and Report Writing will be covered.
Additionally, a 1-week practical onsite training with a senior surveyor is essential. The surveyor shall be identified by the candidate at their own initiative, resource, and cost.
Important considerations for the training: |
- The commercials for the Pre-Licensing online training programme are Rs. 10,000/- plus GST @ 18% per participant per subject.
- The candidate must identify a senior surveyor independently, with whom they will undertake the one-week practical onsite training. The location of the candidate and the surveyor should be in the same city or within a distance of 200 km.
- Any cost incurred for the one-week practical onsite training with the senior surveyor shall be borne separately by the candidate.
- Candidates must ensure that they meet the eligibility criteria mentioned below in Point “A” before proceeding with registration. They can register on the website of the National Insurance Academy, Pune, using the link provided therein.
- The online sessions will be held from Monday to Saturday. Timetable and other details will be shared with the eligible participants once the Registration is confirmed.
- Upon completion of the online training and practical onsite training with a Senior Surveyor, a Final Online Test will be conducted by the National Insurance Academy.

Depending upon the no. of registration our training might commence from 20th July 2026.

Pre Licensing Final Practical Examination - For Fresh Surveyors and Existing Surveyor for Additional Dept.
Pre-Licensing Final Practical Examination for Fresh Surveyors and Existing Surveyors (for Additional Department) is proposed on 22nd November 2025.
Eligibility Criteria: |
- The candidate must ensure that the enrolment with IRDAI for the department is not older than 3 years as of the final date of completion of the examination.
- The candidate must have passed the mandatory S-01 paper (Principles and Practice of General Insurance and Insurance Survey and Loss Assessment) and at least one departmental subject examination conducted by the III before the commencement of practical training with a senior surveyor or institutional training with NIA or III.
- The date of commencement of training (practical training with a senior surveyor or institutional training with NIA or III) should not be earlier than the date of publication of examination results by the III.
- The trainee must maintain proper records of practical training with a senior surveyor and obtain a training completion certificate and Quarterly report.
- Candidates upload the soft copy and send hard copy of the documents mentioned in the point (A) below through post/courier.
How to enroll for the exam: |
- Following documents are required to be upload and submitted in hard copy:
- IRDAI Enrolment Number (Not older than 3 Years till the last date of examination)
- III Qualifying Exam Passing Certificate
- IIISLA Membership Certificate
- Training Completion Certificate (TCC) and Quarterly Report
- 2 Passport size Photos (with candidate’s name written at its back)
Note: Candidates must ensure that they meet the eligibility criteria mentioned above in Point “A” and upload all the documents for registration before making the payment. No request for fee refund will be entertained in case of ineligible candidates.
Enrolment for the exam is a two-step process.
- Fill up the form and upload the documents: (URL will be announced soon)
- Fresh Surveyor (Non-institutional): Submit 6-Month TCC along with quarterly reports generated through IRDAI BAP Portal.
- Existing Surveyor (Additional Dept.): Submit manual TCC on Surveyor’s official letterhead (TCC format given by IRDAI), duly signed and stamped. If trained under a corporate surveyor’s director/employee, the trainer must have an Individual SLA and issue TCC on his letterhead.
Note: There will be no extension of the registration date under any circumstances.
